What do common Pavilion terms mean?

Learn common Pavilion terms, including apps, tabs, records, fields, list views, filters, the App Launcher, and the Utility Bar.

App

An app is a version or area of Pavilion used for a specific type of work.

For example:

  • Pavilion B2C is used for customer-facing sales and retail workflows.

  • Pavilion B2B is used for business-to-business workflows.


App Launcher

The App Launcher is the grid icon in the upper-left corner of Pavilion.

Use the App Launcher to find apps, tabs, and tools that may not appear in your top navigation menu.


Tab

A tab is a navigation item at the top of Pavilion.

Tabs help you move between areas of the system, such as Customers, Inventory, Jobs, Sales, Receipts, Memos, and Invoices.


Record

A record is a single entry in Pavilion.

For example:

  • A customer profile is a customer record.

  • An inventory item is an inventory record.

  • A sale is a sales record.

  • A job is a job record.


Field

A field is a specific piece of information on a record.

For example, a customer record may include fields such as Name, Phone, Email, or Address.


List view

A list view is a table of information within a Pavilion tab.

For example, when you open Customers, Pavilion displays customer information in a list view.

List views help you find, sort, and filter information.


Filter

A filter limits which information appears in a list view.

For example, a filter may show only recently viewed customers, open jobs, or items with a specific status.


Utility Bar

The Utility Bar is the toolbar at the bottom of Pavilion.

It gives you quick access to tools, such as POS and Tag Printer, without leaving the page you are on.


POS

POS stands for Point of Sale.

Use POS to access Pavilion’s sales tools and complete sales transactions.


Tag Printer

Tag Printer is used to print item tags or labels for inventory.

You can access Tag Printer from the Utility Bar.
