Jobs are used to track customer work such as repairs, appraisals, engraving, custom jobs, and other service-related requests. You can create a job, add parts and services, update pricing or taxes, and manage the job details from the job record.
Create a job, and add items and services
Create a job
Go to the Jobs tab.
Click New.
Select the Customer.
Complete the required job fields, such as Source, Date, Due Date, and Store.
Click Save.
Add items to a job
Use items when the job includes inventory, customer-owned items, or reference items.
On the job record, click Add Item.
To add a regular inventory item, select Item.
To add a customer-owned item or reference item, click the dropdown next to Item and choose the correct item type.
Click the Select Items field.
Search for and select the item you want to add.
Click Save.
Add services to a job
Use services for work that needs to be completed, such as repair, appraisal, cleaning, engraving, or custom job work.
On the job record, click Add Service.
Select the service job type.
Click Next.
Complete the required service fields, such as Vendor, Quantity, Cost, and Unit Price.
Click Save.
Add miscellaneous charges
Use miscellaneous charges for job-related costs that are not part of a standard item or service.
On the job record, click Add Misc.
Complete the required fields.
Click Save.
Edit job details or line items
You can update job details after the job is created.
To edit job information, click the pencil icon next to the field you want to update.
Make the change.
Click Save.
To edit or delete a line item:
Click the action menu next to the line item.
Click Edit (2).
If editing, update the fields and click Save.
Click Delete to delete the line item.
Update tax for job line items
You can update the tax rate for job line items individually or all at once.
In the Financials section, click the gear icon.
Select the correct tax rate.
Click Save.
Reorder job line items
You can change the order of items and services on a job.
In the line item list, use the Up and Down buttons next to the item.
Move the item into the correct order.
The updated order will appear on the job record.
