How do I cancel a Layaway?

Cancel a Layaway and finalize the cancellation in POS.

Cancel a Layaway when the customer no longer wants to continue with the order. Canceling a Layaway reverses the Layaway transaction, updates the Layaway status, and sends the cancellation to POS so any refund or cancellation payment can be completed.

Cancel the Layaway record

  1. Open the Layaways tab.

  2. Open the Layaway record you want to cancel.

  3. Click Cancel Layaway in the top-right corner of the Layaway record.

  4. In the Cancel Layaway window, review the Layaway details.

  5. Enter a Cancellation Fee, if applicable.

  6. Add a Note, if needed.

  7. Click Continue.

After the Layaway is canceled, the Restore button becomes available if you need to undo the cancellation.

Finalize the cancellation in POS

  1. On the canceled Layaway record, click Add to POS.

  2. In POS, review the cancellation line item and amount due.

  3. In the Payments section, click Add.

  4. Add the required payment or refund information.

  5. Review the POS transaction.

  6. Click Finish.
