Using Continuity Camera with Pavilion

Pavilion supports Apple’s Continuity Camera feature, letting you use your iPhone as a high-quality webcam on your Mac. However, since camera access is managed by macOS and Google Chrome (not Pavilion itself), you might need a few setup steps to get it working smoothly. Here’s what you need to know to use Continuity Camera with Pavilion.

What You’ll Need

  • An iPhone running iOS 16 or later.

  • A Mac running macOS Ventura or later.

  • Both devices signed into the same Apple ID and connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

  • Google Chrome as your browser (Pavilion runs best in Chrome).

For full system requirements, see Apple’s guide: Set up and use Continuity Camera.

Troubleshooting Tips

If Continuity Camera isn’t working in Pavilion, don’t worry—it’s likely a setup tweak, not an app issue. Try these steps:

  1. Test in a Native App First

Open FaceTime or QuickTime on your Mac and select your iPhone as the camera. If it works there, switch back to Pavilion in Chrome and try again.

  2. Connect with a Cable Initially

    • Plug your iPhone into your Mac using a USB or Lightning cable.

    • Open Pavilion in Chrome and check if the camera appears in the camera dropdown list.

    • Once it’s recognized, disconnect the cable, and wireless should work after this.

  3. Reset Chrome Permissions
