How do I mark a sale line as a donation or giveaway?

Learn how to mark a sale line item as a donation or giveaway from an order record or directly in POS.

You can mark a sale line as a Donation or Giveaway when an item is being provided at no charge or should be tracked separately for reporting. This can be done from an existing order record or directly from POS.

Mark a sale line from an order record

  1. Open the order that contains the sale line you want to update.

  2. In the sale line table, click the Edit icon next to the item.

  3. In the sale line edit window, locate the Is Donation and Is Giveaway options.

  4. Select the appropriate checkbox:

    • Is Donation

    • Is Giveaway

  5. Click Save.

The sale line will now be marked as a donation or giveaway on the order.

Mark a sale line from POS

  1. Open POS.

  2. Add the item or order to POS.

  3. Click the Edit icon next to the sale line item.

  4. In the sale line edit window, locate the Is Donation and Is Giveaway options.

  5. Select the appropriate checkbox:

    • Is Donation

    • Is Giveaway

  6. Click Save.

The sale line will update in POS with the donation or giveaway setting applied.
