How do I manage online visibility for inventory items?

Manage website visibility, categories, tags, and product previews.

Use the Online tab to manage how an inventory item appears on your website. From this tab, you can control whether an item syncs online, assign website categories and tags, and preview the item on your storefront.

Manage the Online tab

  1. Open the Inventory Item record.

  2. Click the Online tab.

  3. Review the available website targets.

Each website target may include these fields:

Field

What it does

Sync Behaviour

Controls whether the item appears on the website.

E-Commerce Categories

Controls where the item appears in website navigation.

E-Commerce Tags

Adds flexible labels used for collections, filters, or promotions.

Choose sync behavior

The Sync Behavior field controls if and when the item appears online.

Common options include:

Option

What it means

Never Sync

The item will not appear on the website.

When Available

The item appears only when it is available for sale.

Always Sync

The item appears online regardless of availability.

Assign e-commerce categories

Use E-Commerce Categories to place the item in the correct website section.

Categories are usually broad storefront groupings, such as:

  • Rings

  • Necklaces

  • Watches

  • Bracelets

  1. In the E-Commerce Categories field, select the category or categories for the item.

  2. Save your changes.

An item can belong to more than one category if it should appear in multiple areas of the website.

Assign e-commerce tags

Use E-Commerce Tags for flexible groupings, filters, or promotions.

Tags are useful for labels such as:

  • New Arrival

  • Bridal

  • Final Sale

  • Under $500

  • Valentine

  1. In the E-Commerce Tags field, select the tag or tags for the item.

  2. Save your changes.

Items can have multiple tags, which allows one item to appear in multiple collections or filtered views.

Preview the item online

  1. On the right side of the Online tab, click Open.

  2. Pavilion opens the item’s product page on your website.

  3. Review the product page to confirm the item appears with the correct visibility, category, tag, image, and product details.

Best practices

  • Use categories for broad website navigation.

  • Use tags for promotions, collections, and filters.

  • Keep tag names consistent so filters work correctly.

  • Check Sync Behavior before launching promotions or adding items to collections.

  • Use Open to preview the product after making changes.
