The Tag Layout Editor lets you create and customize printed tag templates in Pavilion. You can control what information appears on tags, where each field appears, and how the tag prints.
Open the Tag Layout Editor
Open Pavilion Settings from the App Launcher.
Select Tag Layout Editor.
View tag templates
The Tag Templates list shows existing tag templates.
For each template, you can review:
Label: The display name of the template.
Name: The internal template name.
Size: The tag dimensions.
Status: Whether the template is active or inactive.
From this list, you can:
Click the template label to open and edit it.
Use the dropdown menu to Edit, Clone, or Delete a template.
Click Add New to create a new tag template.
Understand tag template sections
When a tag template is open, it is organized into two sections: Template Details and Template Slots.
Update template details
The Template Details tab controls the main settings for the tag template.
Use this tab to review or update template-level settings before adjusting the tag layout. A preview of the tag appears on the right side of the screen.
You can use Preview with Item to load an inventory item into the preview. This helps you see how the tag will print with real item data.
Update template slots
The Template Slots tab controls what information appears on the tag and how it is arranged.
Each slot represents one element on the tag, such as price, SKU, barcode, attributes, entered date, or source.
From this tab, you can:
Add new slots to the template.
Link a slot to an available item field.
Adjust slot formatting and positioning.
Move and resize slots directly in the preview area.
The preview updates as you make changes, so you can visually adjust the tag layout before saving.
Save and test the tag layout
Review the tag preview.
Make any needed layout or slot changes.
Click Save to preserve the template updates.
Select the printer.
Click Test Print to confirm the tag prints correctly.
All saved changes apply to the current template and affect how tags are printed.
