When a customer returns with an item they purchased from you in need of repair, it's important to provide a smooth and efficient resolution. This guide outlines the process within your system.
Scenario: A customer returns with three pieces purchased from your store as a single item (engagement ring set).
Engagement Ring: A 1.53 ct diamond ring in platinum setting, requiring sizing, diamond tightening, and cleaning/polishing.
Wedding Band: Needs an annual inspection, cleaning, and polishing.
Vintage Gold Ring: Requires cleaning, polishing, and stone inspection.
How to Repair a Previously Purchased Item
1. Create a new Job order by clicking on the New button.
2. Select the Customer who is returning an item they purchased from you in need of repair.
3. Add all mandatory fields.
4. Check if all fields are correct and click on the Save button.
5. To select the item for repair, click on the Add Part button and then choose the Customer Owned Item option.
6. Click on the Next button.
7. If the customer returns with an item that was previously purchased from you, select the From Customer items option. If not, select the Quick add option.
8. Search and select the customer’s purchased inventory item in the Select Items field.
9. Click on the Save button.
10. Add corresponding services by clicking on the Add Service button.
11. Choose the desired services. Let`s select the Repair option.
12. Click on the Next button.
13. Fill in all mandatory fields and verify if the information is correct.
14. After checking, click on the Save button.
15. Add extra services as needed.
16. Click on the Add to POS button.
17. Select the deposit amount in the Deposit Amount, % or Deposit Amount field and click on the Save button.
18. If you have already finished the repair and cleaning, click Ready for Pickup in your Job.
19. Now, we will need to add the full payment. Click Add to POS and add the payment amount by clicking on the Add button.
20. Select the preferred payment type and then click on the Add Payment button.
21. Click on the Finish button.
