Part A: Checking the Existing Printer Configuration
đĄIf you already know your printer IP address and port, you can skip to Part B
Goal: We want to know the printer IP address and port number.
Click on the Start button, then select Settings. In the Settings window, navigate to Bluetooth & devices (or Devices on some versions). Select Printers & scanners on the left pane. Locate the GODEX G500 Printer
In the list of printers, find your GODEX G500 (it may appear under a different name if you used the Generic/Text Only driver). Click on the printer name (or right-click and select Printer properties if that option appears). Open Printer Properties
In the Printer Properties dialog, navigate to the Ports tab. Under the Ports tab, look for the port that is checked. It should indicate a Standard TCP/IP Port or something similar. Click âConfigure PortâŚâ. Make a note of:
Printer IP Address or Hostname (e.g., 192.168.1.100).
The Port Name (e.g., 192.168.1.100).
Protocol (it should be Raw or LPR)
If âRawâ protocol is selected: Port Number (often Port 9100 for GODEX printers)
If âLPRâ protocol is selected: Queue Name
Now you know the critical configuration information:
Printer IP Address (e.g., 192.168.1.100)
Port name (normally same as IP Address)
Protocol (Raw or LPR)
Raw Port Number (often 9100 for Raw printing) or LPR Queue Name
We will use this information to set up a printer on a new computer.
Part B: Adding the same Printer on Another Windows Computer
On the second Windows 11 computer, click Start â Settings. Go to Bluetooth & devices â Printers & scanners. Click âAdd Deviceâ Windows will start searching for printers. It may not find the printer automatically, so click on âAdd manuallyâ link once it appears.
Click âAdd a local printer or network printer with manual settingsâ
Choose to create a new port, select âStandard TCP/IP Portâ
Enter printer IP address and port name (normally are the same)
â ď¸Use the values you noted in the Part A!
