Automated markups let you create default pricing rules for inventory items.
Pavilion can apply a markup based on:
Category
Vendor
Pricing tier
Minimum cost
This helps keep inventory pricing consistent and reduces manual pricing updates.
Open the Markups tab
The Markups tab gives you a central place to review, create, and update automated markup rules.
To open the Markups tab:
Open the App Launcher.
Search for Markups.
Select Markups.
Add an Automated Markup
Open the Markups tab.
Select New.
Complete the required fields:
Category
Vendor
Pricing Tier
Default Markup
Min Cost
Select Save.
Add a Markup from the Vendors tab
You can also add markup rules directly from a vendor record.
Open the Vendors tab.
Select the vendor you want to configure.
Open the Markups section.
Click New.
Fill in all required fields in one form:
Category
Vendor
Pricing Tier (Retail, Wholesale, Online, or Memo)
Default Markup
Min Cost
Click Save.
Use Automated Markups in Inventory Items
When you create or edit an inventory item, Pavilion can apply the default markup based on the item details.
To apply an automated markup:
Create a new inventory item, or open an existing item.
Select the item Category.
Select the Vendor.
Enter a Cost that is equal to or greater than the markup rule’s Min Cost.
Pavilion applies the default markup based on the matching rule.
How Pavilion chooses which markup to use
If more than one markup rule could apply, Pavilion uses the most specific matching rule.
Pavilion checks rules in this order:
Category + Vendor + Min Cost
Category + Min Cost
Vendor + Min Cost
Min Cost only
The first matching rule is applied.
Example
Imagine you have a ring from Vendor A in the Rings category. The item cost is high enough to meet the minimum cost.
Pavilion checks for a matching markup rule in this order:
If there is a rule for Rings + Vendor A + Min Cost, Pavilion uses that rule.
If not, Pavilion checks for a rule for Rings + Min Cost.
If not, Pavilion checks for a rule for Vendor A + Min Cost.
If no other rule matches, Pavilion uses a Min Cost only rule, if one exists.
