Use this workflow when a product group already exists and you need to add more inventory items to it.
Before adding items, review Product groups overview if you need to understand how product variations are created. If you need to create a new product group first, start with Creating a product group.
Add items to an existing product group
Open the Inventory tab.
From the Inventory Item list view, select the inventory items you want to add. The items should be related to the same category as the existing product group.
Click Group Products.
Select Pick Existing.
In the Product Group field, search for and select the product group you want to add the items to. After you select the existing product group, the selected inventory items will be added to the matching product variation, or new variations will be created if needed.
Review the generated product variations.
Click Save.
What happens after items are added
After items are added to an existing product group, Pavilion updates the product variations based on the items’ variation attributes.
If the added item matches an existing variation, it is added under that variation.
If the added item has a new variation attribute combination, Pavilion creates a new product variation.
For example, if an existing product group includes a size 9 wedding band and you add size 7 and size 8 versions, Pavilion can create new variations for the new sizes.
After adding items
After the items are added, you can continue managing the product group by:
Editing product variation prices
Adding or updating product variation images
Removing items from the product group
