How do I add or update images for product variations?

Add, update, or remove images for product variations in a product group.

Product variation images control which images appear for each variation in a product group. This is useful when different variations need different images, such as different metal colors, sizes, styles, or item combinations.

Before managing variation images, review Product groups overview if you need to understand how product groups and variations work.

Add or update product variation images

  1. Open App Launcher.

  2. Search for Product Groups.

  3. Open the product group record.

  4. Find the Product Group Items section.

  5. Click the product variation you want to update.

  6. In the variation editing window, find the image or gallery area.

  7. Add or update the images for that variation. Depending on your Pavilion setup, you may be able to:

    1. Upload a new image

    1. Choose an image from the existing image library

    2. Use images from the inventory items in the variation

    3. Remove an existing image

  8. Review the images assigned to the variation.

  9. Click Save. The selected images will be saved to the product variation.

How variation images are used

Variation images help show the correct visual for each product option.

For example, if a product group includes the same ring in yellow gold, white gold, and rose gold, each variation can have images that match the selected metal color.

This helps customers and associates see the correct item image when reviewing the product group or related online product display.

When to update variation images

Update product variation images when:

  • A variation does not have an image

  • A variation image is incorrect

  • A new item image should be used

  • The product group is being prepared for online display

  • The variation should show a different metal, stone, color, or style

After updating variation images

After images are updated, review the full product group to confirm the variations, prices, and images are accurate.

If the product group appears online, also review any online visibility or sync settings before publishing changes.
